Saigon Street Food by Motorbike – Classic Tour

Discover Ho Chi Minh City through its lively streets and local flavours. Ride on the back of a motorbike with your English-speaking guide, explore five districts and stop along the way to sample Vietnamese street food.

From a steaming bowl of Bún Bò Huế to crispy pancakes, fresh spring rolls and Saigon’s famous Bánh Mì, this tour combines food, neighbourhood visits and stories about everyday life.

The Experience

Leave the main tourist streets behind and discover the places where locals gather to eat, shop and meet friends. Your guide will take you through bustling markets, residential neighbourhoods and popular street food areas.

Between tastings, learn about Vietnamese food culture and watch Saigon’s daily life unfold around you. The evening departure is a great opportunity to experience the city’s vibrant atmosphere after dark.

Itinerary

Your tour begins with hotel pick-up and a motorbike ride to a local eatery in District 3. Enjoy Bún Bò Huế, a beef noodle soup with a fragrant lemongrass broth and a flavour distinct from Phở.

Continue to District 10 for grilled banana with sticky rice and coconut milk, then explore the Nguyễn Thiện Thuật apartment neighbourhood. Discover its lively streets and taste Bánh Khọt, small savoury pancakes served with fresh herbs and dipping sauce.

Ride onwards to the flower market and Cambodian market area. Here, sample a selection of local dishes and snacks, including beef wrapped in betel leaves, fresh spring rolls and grilled oysters or baked quail eggs.

Refresh yourself with sugarcane juice before visiting a street food area popular with students. Enjoy a Vietnamese Bánh Mì, then finish with a local dessert, iced jasmine tea and a cold Saigon beer.

Throughout the tour, your guide will share stories about the food, neighbourhoods and people of Saigon. After the final stop, return to your hotel by motorbike.

Bò Lá Lốt
Grilled beef wrapped in betel leaves, served with vermicelli, rice paper and fresh accompaniments.
Gỏi Cuốn
Fresh spring rolls with shrimp, pork and vegetables, served with peanut dipping sauce.
Grilled Oysters or Baked Quail Eggs
Grilled oysters with black pepper sauce, or quail eggs baked in a small cup.
Banana or Coconut Cracker
A crispy sweet snack to enjoy along the way.
Sugarcane Juice
Freshly pressed sugarcane juice served over ice with kumquat.
Bánh Mì
A Vietnamese baguette filled with meat, pâté, pickled vegetables, cucumber and herbs.
Flan or Chè
