Authentic Mekong Delta Floating Market Tour in Can Tho
Start your unforgettable Mekong Delta adventure at 6:00 AM in the heart of Can Tho City. Your local English-speaking guide will welcome you at the meeting point:
From there, take a short walk to the boat station and board a traditional wooden sampan for an authentic journey through the waterways of the Mekong Delta.
As the sun rises over the river, admire the breathtaking golden morning light reflecting across the water — one of the most beautiful moments in Can Tho. Cruise toward the legendary Cai Rang Floating Market, the biggest floating market in Southern Vietnam, where local traders sell fruits and goods directly from their boats. Learn about the fascinating river culture and daily life that make the Mekong Delta so unique.

Enjoy a traditional Vietnamese breakfast served directly on the boat. Choose from:
- Vietnamese noodle soup
- Fresh Bánh Mì
- Steamed Bánh Bao
Vegetarian options are also available.
Continue deeper into the Mekong countryside by boat, passing local houses, tropical gardens, and peaceful canals lined with water coconut and mangrove trees. Along the way, taste freshly cut pineapple served right on the river while watching local life unfold around you.
Next, visit a traditional rice noodle workshop where generations of local families have produced handmade noodles using age-old techniques. Discover how rice is transformed into rice paper and noodles — an essential part of Vietnamese cuisine.

The journey continues through small hidden canals where you can truly experience the quiet beauty of the Mekong Delta. Step ashore to walk through authentic countryside villages, meet friendly local residents, and explore shaded village paths surrounded by tropical fruit trees.

To complete your experience, visit a unique organic cacao farm in Can Tho. Learn the inspiring story of “Mr. Cacao” and discover how locals create chocolate, cacao wine, and natural cosmetic products from cacao beans. Enjoy tasting fresh cacao milk and homemade cacao wine before returning to the city.

The tour finishes around 11:30 AM, depending on river conditions and tides.

Thank you for the tour with Kate.
The guiding was really authentic freindly and professional. Kate did take care of us like if we were her own family with sincerity and kindness, thanks to her.
The tour was really interesting and we discovered the decline of the floating market which is interesting to measure. Then we visited a rice noodle factory and a cacao factory. The tour il in the small canal was peaceful and beautiful.
The conductor of the boat was really nice and attentive, to our confort and security. Big thanks and good luck for the challenges to change the trips from the floating markets to something else. The Mekong delta is full of wonderful things and specially wonderful people to meet as our guide Kate.
