The best trekking in Sapa (3 days 2 nights)

Day 1. Hanoi – Sapa

Travel option 1: night bus

Today you travel by luxury cabin bus to Sapa. The bus leaves Hanoi at 10:00 PM and arrives in Sapa around 3:00 AM. Upon arrival, we have arranged a room for you so that you can continue to sleep and have a peaceful breakfast. The best trekking in Sapa

Travel option 2: morning bus

It is also possible to travel during the day. you will leave at 6.30 am and arrive in Sapa in the early afternoon. Here you will have the rest of the afternoon and evening at your leisure. We will arrange the hotel for you. 

Travel option 3: Night train

The night train is still running irregularly at the moment. It is also less comfortable than options 1 and 2. 

Day 2. Sapa – Y Linh Ho – Lao Chai – Ta Van (breakfast, lunch, dinner)

You will be picked up around 9:00 am by your own local Hmong guide. The draw is about to begin. We start the trek with a visit to the local market to stock up on provisions for lunch. Well prepared we start the trek to Y Linh Ho, Lao Chai and Ta Van in the Muong Hoa Valley.

During the 15 km long trek we visit 3 villages of ethnic minorities. Enjoy the spectacular view over the valley with Fansipan, Vietnam’s highest mountain, in the distance.

The trek then leads us through the village of the ‘Black Hmong’ where you are introduced to the traditional way of weaving and embroidery. After a filling lunch we move on and spend the night in a traditional Hmong house in Ta Van. By far the best accommodation in the valley.

Day 3. Ta Van – Giang Ta Chai – Sapa – Hanoi (breakfast, lunch)

After a delicious breakfast we leave Ta Van and continue our trek to visit the ‘Red Dao’ minority in the village of Giang Ta Chai. We pass a beautiful waterfall, walk on narrow paths between the rice terraces and cross the Muong Hoa River to have lunch in a fantastic place.

We slowly return to Ta Van where you can take a shower and relax before you are picked up to return to Sapa.

From Sapa you board the comfortable bus back to Hanoi where you will arrive around 9:00 PM.

The Sapa trek was a truly impressive experience for us, definitely recommended. In addition to the well-organized overnight stays and delicious food, we also had a very special hike.

Our guide literally led us through the rice fields to the next villages. During the hike we had truly breathtaking views. The next day we were given the opportunity to help cook and have lunch at our guide’s home and we were taken back to our luggage on scooters. Even the ride on the scooters was quite an experience. 

We were then taken back to Hanoi. All in all, the trip was super organized, the organization was easily accessible and you will have an unforgettable experience with this trip.
